Fast Drying Primer

Fast Drying Primer

How can we speed up the drying of our phosphoric acid-based Mowital/Phenodur primers?

ln a two-pack primer the phosphoric acid is stirred in only shortly before application and drying will then take place within a few hours. ln the case of a one-pack primer, the material can be kept longer, but when applied to metal surfaces will take two months to dry.
Other factors, too, can be varied, eg water and solvent contents, type of filler used, and the amount (e.g. talc) and the type of pigment, concentration of the phosphoric acid and the amount added, coating thickness as well as drying conditions (temperature, relative humidity).
