Production of Hydroxyalkyl Acrylates

Can you tell me how one uses hydroxyalkyl acrylates and how they are prepared?

Hydroxyethyl and hydroxypropyl acrylates are used as reactive thinners for acrylate resins containing crosslinkable hydroxyl groups, in amounts not exceeding 25% of the monomer blend. Acrylic acid is often added to adjust the acid value to a pre-set level, especially in the case of systems which have to be reacted with amino resins. hlydroxyacrylate resins are obtained through normal polymerisation techniques, suitable solvents including aromatic solvents or esters.
Their molecular weight can be adjusted as required by using chain transfer agents.
