We would like our methyl methacrylate / butylacrylate / methacrylic acid terpolymers to show good adhesion to polystyrene.
It is very difficult to achieve good adhesion of an aqueous dispersions to plastics surface. One could pretreat the surface with solvent, or apply a special adhesion-promoting primer. Chlorinated polyolefins can also be used. Generally speaking, however, it will be extremely difficult to achieve the sort of result you require whith the terpolymer dispersion you mention.
