Is it possible to calculate in advance the exact percentage of driers for an air drying alkyd paint?
There is, in fact,no such thing as an "exact percentage".The amounts of dry solids can be composed of very different mixtures of identical quality, even if the amount and chemical constitution of the binder has been specified. New possibilities are opened up all the time, especially through new kinds of driers which have recently been developed, especially in cases where the paint film is to have special properties. In other words, there are various “exact" percentages - and these will continue to vary as new drier systems are developed.
