How can we make styrene resins harder?
If it is a styrenated resin, the styrene content can be gradually increased. One will, however, have to accept greater brittleness. lt is also possible to copolymerise the styrene with a coumarone resin and incorporate it into a henolic resin. One really ought to know more about the intended application, what other resins are in the formulation and whether the hardness is adequate. Sometimes one can dispense with the plasticising component.
