Moisture-Curing Coatings

Moisture-Curing Coatings

What resins would you recommend for moisture-curing systems ?

Here, moisture-curing polyurethane systems have attained special technical importance. These are suitable for application to a wide range of surfaces, including fabrics, cardboard and leather. They are produced by reacting hydroxyfunctional compounds such as polyesters with excess be- or multifunctional polysocyanates.

The resultans products may be used as coating materials and will crosslink in the presence of water, usually already through the action of atmospheric humidity, to from high molecular polyurethane polyureafilms. Special materials can be obtained by varying the reactants and by varying the stoichiometric ratio of OH and NCO groups.
